M. Taylor opened its doors in 1990 in Prairie Village, KS. For 19 years, Marilyn and her staff welcomed shoppers that quickly became friends of the store and thrilled their senses with all things that were M. Taylor. The store closed in December of 2009 but, while the doors to the shop have closed, new doors are now open right here on the Internet…just a click away. The view is spectacular, the merchandise unique, and selected always with you in mind. As they say, when one door closes another opens; my door is always open and you are always welcome.

We love to search the markets, art fairs, and anywhere creative touches abound and bring them right to your door. We believe that beautiful things and gifts feed the artistic soul. Who is M. Taylor?

For Marilyn Taylor owning her own shop was a lifelong dream. Inspired by her creative grandmothers in textiles and fashion, Marilyn grew to appreciate and cultivate an interest in color, texture, art, and creativity. Thanks to her mother and aunt, she learned to be the shopper she is today! After receiving her degree in merchandising, Marilyn was a buyer for two national retail stores. Marilyn bloomed amid a family nurtured in entrepreneurism. After years in the corporate world Marilyn decided to act on her dream. When the time came to exit the corporate world and to take the leap of faith into her own business, Marilyn’s family responded with a cheerful “It’s about time!” Marilyn is grateful to all those that have helped her bring M. Taylor to life including the many customers who enjoyed the store and now can indulge themselves online.
